“It was a pleasure to participate in the meeting of the Dutch-Belgian Constituency of the International Monetary Fund and the Dutch Constituency of the World Bank Group. I would like to thank the organizers and hosts for the excellent organisation. The meeting brought together policymakers and central bank governors to discuss developments in the global economic environment, financial stability, and the challenges ahead for our economies. For me personally, this event had particular significance as it was my first international engagement in my capacity as Governor of the Croatian National Bank. It was an honour to represent Croatia at this forum and to exchange views with colleagues from the Constituency,” said Ante Žigman, Governor of the Croatian National Bank, following the meeting held in Varna, Bulgaria, from 18 to 20 June, adding that he was particularly pleased to have met with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the IMF.
“Our discussion once again confirmed the value of international cooperation, mutual trust, and strong institutions in addressing an increasingly complex global environment. I return from Varna encouraged by the openness of the discussions and inspired by the shared commitment to economic resilience, sustainable growth and financial stability. I look forward to continuing this important cooperation in the years ahead,” Ante Žigman emphasized.
